The Opportunity

The purpose of the TasWater Capital Delivery Office (CDO) is to position our business to fulfil our customer promises for improved service levels by delivering an accelerated capital program.  The CDO is an Alliance between TasWater, UGL, CPB and partner WSP that brings together expertise across the project delivery cycle.

This position will provide engineering support, advice, design input, and design management to enable the delivery of projects and/or programs of works for the efficient upgrade and creation of water and wastewater assets, with a particular focus on treatment assets. This position can be based in Hobart or Launceston.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide input to business case authors on mechanical, process, control and instrumentation requirements.
  • Manage timelines and quality associated with process discipline inputs into task notices and task budget requests for design and engineering tasks.
  • Develop or procure concept, preliminary or detailed designs for process-related assets.
  • Ensure mechanical, process, control and instrumentation solutions are deliverable, fit for purpose, to relevant standards, and that cost estimates are accurate.
  • Prepare detailed documentation and specification requirements for mechanical and process-related components in order to support procurement and delivery of allocated projects.
  • Manage consultants engaged to undertake mechanical, process, control, and instrumentation-related investigations, planning, design and documentation.

Your Application

Your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the selection criteria in the Position Description, summarised as follows:

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Science of a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of standard and advanced water and wastewater treatment processes, including physical, chemical and biological.
  • Extensive relevant professional experience.
  • Current C class manual driver’s licence.
