Ngaanyatjarra Council (NCAC) is a dynamic organisation representing the interests of approx. 2000 Ngaanyatjarra, Pintupi & Pitjantjatjara people living in 12 Communities in the Central Desert region of WA


About the role

Ngaanyatjarra Council is looking to employ a suitably qualified person to fill the role of Administration Manager based at Ngaanyatjarra Lands, WA.  Working under the direction of the Community Services Manager (CSM), the role of Administration Manager is to:

  • Provide administrative support to CSM, including arranging community meetings, recording of minutes and ensuring correct governance procedures are adhered to
  • Administer online systems ensuring compliance.
  • Supervise and assist Indigenous community members.
  • Supervise and assist in ordering supplies and services, invoicing and paying accounts.


About You

The attributes and skills required to be considered for this role include:

  • Basic bookkeeping knowledge, sound clerical reception and banking skills.
  • Good computer skills especially in spreadsheets and accounting software.
  • Knowledge of the CDP and Centrelink requirements.
  • Well-developed time management, organisational and planning skills including the ability to set priorities and meet objectives
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Personal qualities including a positive outlook, patience, honesty, maturity, flexibility and a high standard of personal conduct.
  • Ability to deliver on-the-job training
  • Ability to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality in dealings with Community members
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and under the direction of traditional Aboriginal people in a "dry" (no alcohol) community, where cultural norms and community development priorities may differ from your own.  Patience, maturity and a high standard of personal conduct is essential


Benefits

This full time position comes an attractive base salary, a total of 8 weeks leave, PBI Salary packaging, $4,333 remote allowance, an annual airfare, accommodation and utilities.
