The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Councils in NSW with the most culturally, socially and economically diverse communities in Sydney. We deliver 21 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 370,000 residents. The role The Executive Planner, Urban Renewal role is a strategic planning position responsible for preparing and contributing to place-based master plans. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Canterbury Bankstown’s centres and work on large and interesting projects. You will have an opportunity to lead a master plan that guides good planning outcomes in a centre, including developing innovative ideas and proposing practical solutions to complex planning issues. This involves collaborating across Council and with external stakeholders, including NSW Government agencies, engaging a diverse and multicultural community to understand community aspirations, managing consultants and meeting project deadlines. As a specialist position, the role requires a high level of technical proficiency in strategic planning and the ability to draw on a wide range of experiences when facing new challenges.
