About the team

Sitting within the Infrastructure Gold Coast Department, our Transport Delivery team is responsible for the project management of all transport capital works projects (including new/update and renewals) including road upgrades, active transport, public transport and transport infrastructure renewals.

Requirements of the role: 

What you'll be responsible for 

  • Coordinate the delivery of allocated traffic system infrastructure (including traffic signal refurbishments, traffic CCTVs and variable message signs), public transport infrastructure, road safety barrier programs, disability access and allocated transport projects.
  • Ensure the completion of minimum 95% of all assigned projects within allocated timeframes and on budget as per the project plan. 
  • Supervise and mentor a team of professional project managers to ensure the successfuldelivery of projects, ensuring governance protocols, safety and regulatory requirements are adhered to. 
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking by identifying and implementing ideas that improve efficiency and / or productivity of the Transport Delivery unit. 
  • Develop and submit a monthly progress report based on all allocated projects, including project management resource utilisation.
  • Ensure all development plans for direct reports are actioned during the financial year. 

We're looking for people who have

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience with leading civil infrastructure delivery teams (Mandatory).
  • A Bachelor's Degree of Civil Engineering or equivalent knowledge (Mandatory).  
  • A Graduate Certificate of Project Management or equivalent knowledge and experience (Mandatory).  
  • Drivers licence class C unrestricted (Mandatory). 
  • WHS Licence General Construction White Card (Desired).  
  • Demonstrated experience within a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to changing project needs, can work under pressure and can meet strict contractual processes and timeframes. 
  • A positive attitude in an environment of competing priorities. 
  • The ability to motivate and empower a team, andform strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Highly developed analytical, problem solving and investigative skills with the ability to provide sound advice, options and recommendations to influence positive project outcomes.
  • Methodical processes, ensures accuracy in their work and is detail oriented. 
  • Integrity, shows accountability and displays a good example for others.

Additional Information 

The salary range is $121,717.17 to $171,458.85 per annum plus superannuation. This salary range is commensurate with working a 10-day fortnight and may include a negotiable critical skills incentive payment (CSIP) that is determined based on your qualifications, skills and experience. The CSIP is an allowance and is subject to annual reviews based on performance.

The role is a designated fixed term position, available immediately and extending to January 2026.
