About your team 
 
Infrastructure Gold Coast comprises specialists who plan, design, build, maintain and operate our physical infrastructure, creating a safe and accessible city that meets the needs of our community now and in the future.
 
The permanent and fixed term positions that we have available are embedded into two of our business units under the Infrastructure Gold Coast Department. 
 
Our Network Utilities Delivery team are responsible for the project management of utility network capital works projects (including new/update and renewals), including water, sewerage and stormwater infrastructure, and our Network Facilities Delivery team who are responsible for the project management of all sewage treatment plant capital works projects (including new/update and renewals).
 
Positions available
 
Due the commencement of exciting projects within the City, we are advertising for 3 x Permanent Full-Time positions and 1 x 3-year Fixed Term position ending on 30 June 2027. 
 
What you'll be responsible for
 
  • Managing the successful project delivery and handover of network utility capital and renewal projects involving water, sewerage and stormwater assets. 
  • Ensuring the works are constructed in accordance with state safety and environmental legislation and project specifications. 
  • Ensuring all stakeholders are consulted at relevant stages of the projects.
  • Working collaboratively with our long term partners that complete design, engineering and delivery phases of our projects.  
  • Development of contract documentation and tendering processes including advertising, assessing tenders and preparing recommendations in accordance with the City’s procurement guidelines. 
  • Managing accurate project status reports including forecasting expenditure and timelines, and ensuring that scope, financial and timeline variations are managed in accordance with City expectations. 
  • Assisting the team, particularly from a technical perspective and in the contract management of projects. 
We're looking for people who have 
 
  • The ability to plan and organise yourself and others to ensure the timely completion of tasks. 
  • High-quality service skills, providing excellent service to internal and external customers, and understands and reacts responsively to customer expectations. 
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution. 
  • The ability to perform effectively in a team environment and foster good relationships as part of a high performing team. 
  • The ability to prioritise problems, think laterally, gather and analyse information to identify symptoms and causes, and engage the right people to reach better outcomes. 
  • A Diploma in Project Management or equivalent knowledge with the ability to coordinate and manage project scope and resources to achieve work goals within deadlines.  
  • A Bachelor Degree of Engineering or Equivalent Knowledge (Mandatory) 
  • A minimum of 5 years’ engineering experience in the delivery of Network Utility infrastructure (Desired)  
  • Practical construction experience (Desired).
