The Opportunity

This position is responsible for coordinating the operation of Council's facilities and 355 Management Committees, managing the bookings of community facilities. The position is responsible for administering the operation of the committees consisting of volunteers appointed and delegated to manage council facilities.

The role's primary purpose is to facilitate the smooth operation and financial success of community facilities. This involves coordinating bookings, collaborating with management committees, promoting the facilities, and ensuring a positive user experience, all while adhering to legal and safety standards. It's a multifaceted role that plays a crucial part in the community's well-being and financial sustainability.

Essential Criteria 

  • Degree qualification in Business, Records/Information Management or related discipline and/or equivalent industry experience coupled with relevant education/training.
  • Sound working knowledge of meeting procedures, with demonstrated experience in report and correspondence writing.
  • Working knowledge of the Local Government Act and Administration Legislation. With High level of understanding of Work, Health and Safety and Risk Management as relates to community facility use including experience with development and review of risk assessments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including effective consultation, negotiation and conflict management abilities. With demonstrated experience with providing training both one-on-one and group sessions.
  • Experience in developing and monitoring budgets.
  • Demonstrated skills in the community consultation process and public relations.
  • Knowledge and skills in the use of computer applications including email, Microsoft Office suite and other work-related systems.
  • Current Drivers Licence (Class C)
  • Be willing to undertake a Nation Police Check before commencement.
