About the role

As a Workforce Capability Advisor, you will be a pivotal force in providing operational and strategic analysis and guidance to shape best-practice workforce planning and design solutions across Mackay Regional Council. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic environment. The position is permanent full-time, but for the right candidate, we are open to considering part-time / flexible working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive, technical input into the development and implementation of workforce design initiatives that influence workforce design, job evaluation and analysis, organisational structure, organisational change and strategic recruitment activities.
  • Develop and implement workforce planning tools, templates and guides to embed operational and strategic workforce planning principles across Council.
  • Conduct research, prepare data, trends, analysis, reports and presentations from various sources.
  • Analyse industry workforce supply and demand data to develop evidence-based forecasts and contribute to the identification of targeted strategies to address workforce planning, workforce design and talent management solutions.

To be successful in this position, you will possess;

  • Tertiary qualifications Human Resource Management, Organisational Development, Business Management (Bachelor preferred, other qualifications with relevant experience will be considered)
  • Experience implementing operational and strategic human resource frameworks, initiatives and strategies in a diverse workforce.
  • Previous experience providing specialist expertise and advice across all facets of the employee/workforce planning lifecycle.
  • Well-developed workplace coaching, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly developed negotiation and consultation skills.
  • Working knowledge of computerised human resources information systems.
