About your new team

The Chief Technology Office branch is responsible for the delivery of corporate ICT services. Services include enterprise policy, standards and planning, architecture, project delivery, telecommunications and the support and management of corporate ICT systems in partnerships with multiple vendors and business users. 

About your new role

The Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer will play a pivotal role in upgrading and supporting the City's extensive network, ensuring seamless connectivity for LAN, WAN, public Wi-Fi and commercial customers.

What you bring to your new role

  • Experience in the below is highly desirable:

- Service Provider core network design and implementation 

- Firewalls, SD-WAN, switching and wireless technologies

  • Strong understanding of network architecture and security concepts
  • In-depth knowledge of carrier Ethernet and networking protocols: OSPF, MPLS, BGP, ASBR etc.
  • Expert proficiency in routing protocols like OSPF and BGP
  • Working knowledge of DNS and PKI concepts
  • Experience in managing firewalls and log management platforms (Fortigate/ Analyzer, Check Point MDS/MLM)
  • Experience in LAN Wi-Fi deployments and troubleshooting (Cisco WLC, Ruckus)
  • Familiarity with Cisco DNAC, Cisco ISE, SolarWinds and Zero Trust concepts
  • Self-driven with excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
