Coordinator Ranger Services


About the position:

The Regulatory Services branch has an opportunity for an experienced Coordinator Ranger Services to join the team. Responsible for providing leadership and direction to the wider team, the incumbent will ensure the City’s obligations and functions are carried out in a customer focused, professional, legal and efficient manner. Functions of this multidisciplinary team include but are not limited to animal management, local laws, parking, camping grounds and caravan parks, off-road vehicles and litter, as well as participating in legal proceedings and overseeing the effective management of the City’s CCTV system. This role will also be required to assist the Manager Regulatory Services in the development and delivery of strategic initiatives.

Key accountabilities:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day functions of the Ranger Services Team efficiently, including managing staff rosters, work placements, allocating tasks and prioritising, as well as recommending initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiencies.
  • Coordinate the City’s animal management responsibilities and operation of the animal management facility(s) and ensure that they are effectively administered as per relevant legislation and community expectations.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the multidisciplinary Ranger Services Team (including work placements) to maximise performance and productivity through mentoring, coaching, training, development and performance management.
  • Oversee the strategic management of the City’s CCTV system, ensuring the system is operated and accessed in accordance with the City’s CCTV Management Plan.
  • Undertake moderate to complex investigations and inspections with limited direction to assess compliance with all relevant environmental health legislation and Council policy, implementing appropriate actions to ensure compliance.

Position requirements:

The successful candidate will have experience at a supervisory level in a statutory and legislative environment, ideally in the area of Ranger Services. In addition, comprehensive communication, investigation and problem solving skills are requirements of the position.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary starting from $115,954 per annum or $58.6814 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
