Plant Operator - Grader



Mackay Regional Council requires an Experienced Plant Operator - Grader to join the Civil Operations team at the Sarina Depot on a permanent full time basic with a 9 day fortnight. You will carry out labouring, plant and truck operation duties associated with maintenance and construction of roads and drainage assets, or other associated civil infrastructure under the remote supervision of a Supervisor or Leading Hand.

About Us:

As a Plant Operator - Grader, you will be an integral part of our team responsible for keeping roads, streets, and public spaces safe and accessible.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Current General Construction Safety "White" Card
  • Current QLD Heavy Rigid Truck ‘HR’ Class Licence
  • Current Certificate of competency to operate motor grader > 35kw
  • Certificate of Competency to operate other road construction plant and/or equipment
  • Advanced level of skill/competency in operation of grader (>35kw), and in particular final trim operations
  • Extensive experience in construction/maintenance of roads and drainage infrastructure.

Candidates who hold a Certificate III in Civil Construction, Current Traffic Controllers Ticket and QLD Heavy Combination HC Truck licence will be highly regarded.

  • Base annual salary from $63,790 ($1226 per week) plus allowances as applicable
