  • Provide high level direction and leadership to the City Improvement unit.

CBCity is one of the largest Council’s in New South Wales, responsible for delivering quality services to our community and we know that together we create a great city we love.  

The Manager City Improvement will provide direction and leadership to the City Improvement unit. The position will develop leadership at all levels and ensure a customer-centric culture that provides a coordinated approach to the improvement of our town centres and public spaces.

You will identify improvements to Council’s services and activities that improve town centres and public spaces with the customer at the centre of decision-making

The position will also provide ongoing operational and strategic support to the Director to meet overall department and organisational obligations.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Provide clear direction to the unit and advise on actions and agreed plans to enable organisation alignment with a strong focus on the achievement of set strategic goals
  • Active engagement and consultation with stakeholders to identify their requirements, using the data to enable organisational direction, strategy and action plans
  • Develop evaluation and continuous improvement plans, systems and processes
  • Proactively oversee and monitor incoming and outgoing data to drive decision making and share outcomes with other business areas
  • Use deep understanding of variation and its impacts on predictability, profitability and performance to deliver value to all stakeholders in an ethical, social and environmentally responsible manner
  • Build a culture that is embedded in the values of the organisation through decisions and exemplary behaviour

The successful applicant will have:

  • Professional qualifications and/or extensive equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of leadership at all levels and performance management of team members
  • Experience working in a political environment requiring sound judgement, being astute and demonstrating political acumen
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge across several functional areas within relevant field and collaboratively working with internal/external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in change management, continuous business improvement, and digital transformation of processes/operations
  • Demonstrated skills in developing business unit plans and strategies to deliver services within budget and agreed service levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to form positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, groups, organisations, and individuals
  • C Class Drivers' Licence

This opportunity will be offered on a permanent full time basis
