About the Organisation 

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. City of Port Phillip has zero tolerance for child abuse and is a committed Child Safe organisation.

About the Role

Opportunity for an experienced facilities management professional to develop and enhance their leadership skills and deliver innovative and quality focussed facilities management, safety and security functions across all council.

Duties:

  • Daily contact for site including assisting with emergency/security response, COVID safety support, Chief Warden duties
  • Supporting the organisation in understanding facility and site functions including providing guidance on best practice and assisting in the development of accompanying processes and procedures.
  • Monthly and annual site inspections
  • Act as the Security Lead in supporting Security Risk Assessments and  enhancing the overall security culture, reporting on security and facility safety and raising any emerging concerns arising across sites.
  • Support Site Managers with security and facilities advice, monthly meetings, compliance

Skills and Experience 

  • Qualifications in safety, facilities management and security related areas
  • Experience in key areas of facilities management, security support and facilities assurance
  • Ability to take a leadership role across various internal groups and drive strategic outcomes.
  • Ability to learn on the job
