Team Leader - Accounts Payable

Mackay Regional Council has an opportunity for an experienced and energetic Team Leader – Accounts Payable to join our Shared Services Team. This is a permanent fulltime position based in Mackay CBD.

The Role:

As the Team Leader you will lead the team and provide sound advice whilst ensuring the Accounts Payable functions and processes are completed in an effective, efficient, and timely manner, in line with Council’s adopted policies and procedures. You will also provide support to the Coordinator of Business and Payment Services in the maintenance and control of Council’s Accounts Payable systems.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
• Current C Class Drivers Licence
• Experience in supervising a team, planning and coordinating the work within the work area.
• Experience within an Accounts Payable or equivalent financial environment including the ability to provide a high level of personalised customer service.
• Ability to deal with difficult situations, clearly articulate issues, negotiate outcomes and resolve problems, with an attitude to take personal responsibility for promptly handling and resolving workplace tasks.
