Situated on the Murray River in North West Victoria and only a short flight away from three capital cities, Mildura Rural City Council is a growing and dynamic regional Centre, with several towns and large agricultural areas throughout the municipality. Covering almost ten per cent of the State with a resident base across more than 22,000 square kilometres, Mildura Rural City Council employ an in-house strategic team, responsible for the development, design and delivery of a series of projects and programs. Council’s Community Futures Branch is seeking a Strategic Planner to a crucial role in the successful delivery of these projects.

You will engage with a range of external stakeholders including developers, land owners, the community as well as consultants, to oversee and implement a range of residential, commercial and industrial development projects. Reporting to the Strategic Planning Coordinator, you will provide and present expert strategic advice on a range of planning activities that will make a meaningful impact to the region and benefit its residents. 

You are an experienced and resilient Planner with excellent problem solving and people skills. You have contributed to the development of strategic plans and have factored relevant policy and legislation requirements into your assessments and decisions. You are able to work both collaboratively and independently and have a passion for delivering high quality integrated development outcomes that improve communities.
