The Opportunity

This opportunity will see you responsible for ensuring the continuation of the functions of the Festivals and Events team, in addition to supporting the capacity of the community and the organisation to plan and deliver events.

Positioned within Council’s Community Development department and reporting into the Team Leader Festivals and Events, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Providing guidance to internal and external stakeholders in the planning and logistics of events management;
  • Supporting other place-based initiatives, neighbourhood pilot projects and events that activate community hubs;
  • Identifying and implementing production and logistical requirements for events, including schedules, running sheets and briefing notes;
  • Developing and implementing risk management plans for events and projects; and,
  • Assisting the communications team in the development and roll out of communication plans and marketing collateral.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Event Management, Arts Management, or a related discipline with some experience or lesser formal qualifications with work skills and relevant experience;
  • Experience in the planning, promotion and delivery of events and arts and cultural programs at the community and professional level;
  • Excellent project and stakeholder management skills with experience in engaging and working with the community on the delivery of events and cultural projects;
  • Sound time management, planning and organisation skills including the ability to set realistic priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent administration and organisation skills including time management, written and verbal communications and ability to continually improve on and streamline processes; and,
  • Current Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
