Procurement Officer

Mackay Regional Council are seeking two Procurement Officers to join the Procurement and Plant team based at the Paget depot. There is one full-time permanent role and one full-time twelve-months fixed-term role available.

About the Role:

The Procurement Officer is responsible for the provision of procurement activities, including providing specialist advice to Council staff and suppliers. To enhance Council’s ability to optimise its purchasing power and to build and develop the Sections customer base, and relationships to maintain continuity in service provision, ensuring value for money and adherence to the Local Government Act whilst maintaining probity, other relevant legislation and Council’s Policies and Procedures

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Sound level experience using procurement Enterprise Systems e.g., SAP, Finance One, CiAnywhere.
• Experience in procurement operations in Government, private sector or other multi-industry organisations.
• Ability to facilitate effective collaborative relationships with internal and external customers.
• Certificate IV in Purchasing or Industry recognised training and/or appropriate tertiary qualifications in Procurement will be highly regarded
