Business Events and Sponsorship Officer

Utilise your relational stakeholder skills and experience events and apply them within a role that will focus on obtaining sponsorship for Council’s major events and activities. This role will also have you involved in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of Council’s business events. Council’s business events are currently defined as the CBEvolve, Careers+ job expo, networking events and roundtable discussions or Industry Forum. 

Your duties will include

  • Develop sponsorship proposals to secure sponsorship arrangements for Council events, activities and initiatives
  • Negotiate sponsorship packages, administer benefits and be the central contact for sponsorship enquiries.
  • The Business events and Sponsorship Officer will manager and deliver a post event sponsor follow up and report
  • Maintain a sponsorship database and results dashboard.
  • Manage a range of business events and related activities concurrently, with varying timelines and workloads, in a demanding, high volume work environment, while achieving deadlines and milestones
  • Develop, coordinate and evaluate business events

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Event Management or Communications or a relevant field or 5 years’ experience in the event management area
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, coordinating and evaluating business/community events. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with a range of stakeholders. 
  • Capacity to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays. 
  • Excellent organisational skills including time management and project management. 
  • Demonstrated experience in developing sponsorship proposals and writing funding grant submissions. 
  • Experience in sponsorship and funding negotiations. Demonstrated personal integrity and commitment to organisational values. 
  • Experience in working in a team environment and ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to negotiate and approach problem solving in a flexible and resourceful manner. 
  • Provision of high level customer service in a multicultural environment.

The salary range for this opportunity commences at $72,782 (Grade F, Step1) + 10% super
