Roads and Drainage Coordinator

The City of South Perth (the City) is seeking applications from candidates to undertake the position of Roads and Drainage Coordinator to join the Programs Delivery Business Unit.

Located only 4kms from the Perth CBD, the City borders the stunning Swan and Canning Rivers on three geographic boundaries, and boasts excellent access to important social, commercial and leisure infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of construction and infrastructure maintenance activities across the City and to provide technical and operational support to the Manager Programs Delivery, ensuring the  efficient and effective delivery of engineering related works. This position is responsible for effective management of the Roads Maintenance and Infrastructure Protection Compliance team.

To be successful in this position you need to demonstrate;

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience in civil construction and maintenance or experience in a similar role
  • Proven managerial experience with demonstrated ability to manage and motivate others
  • Experience coordinating the delivery of construction and infrastructure maintenance activities
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and results focused
  • Knowledge of principles and practices involved in construction and infrastructure maintenance 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate an operational team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with different stakeholders to provide high level customer service
  • Sound contract management skills
  • Advanced computer literacy
  • Tertiary qualification or Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering, or lesser qualification with extensive relevant experience in a similar role
  • Current ‘C’ Class WA driver’s licence

Desirable:

  • Experience in a similar local government role 
  • Expertise in risk management
  • Occupational Health & Safety Representative or Management training certificate
  • Contract management training/qualification

This permanent position is a level 8/9 which attracts a salary of $92,230 - $108,644 gross per annum plus superannuation.
