About the Opportunity

Moree Plains Shire Council now has a rewarding opportunity for a Grants Officer to join the council in a permanent full-time capacity (35 hours per week) working out of the Max Centre in Moree, Northern NSW, approximately 1.5 hours drive from the Queensland border.

Reporting to the Economic Development Coordinator, you will be primarily responsible for facilitating successful funding and grant applications for the provision of Council services, infrastructure development, and local community projects with a priority focus on maximising the opportunities of the Moree Special Activation Precinct.

More specifically, your day-to-day duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Supporting the development and success of the Moree Special Activation Precinct and Council's Economic Development objectives;
  • Developing strong working relationships with relevant State & Federal Government bodies;
  • Refining and implement policy and procedures associated with grant activities of the Council; and
  • Providing support for the economic development activities of the council

About You

The ideal candidate for this role will have a Diploma level qualification in Economic Development, Business, Commerce, or Social Sciences in addition to relevant professional experience. It is important to note that graduates will be considered.

To be successful in this role it is essential that you possess knowledge and experience in Grant Application writing, processes and administration. You will need highly developed communication skills, allowing you to function successfully in a team environment and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The ability to use fantastic organisational skills to manage your workload and work effectively under pressure while delivering with a high level of accuracy is also crucial.

Candidates who possess familiarity with and experience within a variety of business environments will be highly regarded, as will candidates who possess experience working in/ or with community groups or organisations as well as government and non-governmental agencies.

Please note: It is essential that you are willing to undertake a Criminal History Check and you hold a Class C Drivers License with the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
