About the opportunity

Blacktown City Council owns and operates a childcare business, Kids’ Early Learning, with a portfolio of 26 child care centres and over 70 family day care educators.

Kids’ Early Learning has approximately 300 full-time, part-time and casual staff and operates throughout the Blacktown local government area, serving over 1700 families and providing care and learning needs for their children.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in child care. We are looking for 6 people to join our Kids' Early Learning team and work alongside professionals in the industry.

Applicants of all ages are encouraged to apply, however you must be 18 years of age by 23 April 2021 to meet legislative requirements.

We encourage new graduates who will receive their Certificate III of Early Childhood Education by April 2021 to apply.

Qualifications and experience


Essential:
• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care Community Services (CHC30113)
• Working with Children Check
• Minimum 18 years of age to meet legislative requirements
• Must not possess a Diploma or higher qualification in a related field.

Desirable:
• Driver’s licence
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Training, which meets requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulation 2011. Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Training, which meets requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulation 2016.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
• A salary range of $384.50 - $750.10 will be offered per week based on age and level of schooling completed
• 38 hour working week
• Rostered Day Off (RDO) every month
• Regular onsite workshops at TAFE
• Associated TAFE fees with this course will be paid for or reimbursed by Council
• Up to 18 months opportunity
• Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 9.5% employer superannuation contribution payable to the Local Government Superannuation Scheme, Fitness Passport and gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
