The team at the Greg Cruickshank Aquatic Centre are looking for experienced Swim Teachers that are passionate and dedicated to teaching children to swim. If you enjoy working in an environment that is fun, encouraging, have a passion to teach children a lifelong skill, hold AUST Swim credentials, CPR and blue card, then this job is for you! 

This Casual Swim Teacher will report to the Program Leader Leased Council Facilities and is responsible for providing efficient and effective support to the Community Facilities team. Duties focus on planning and delivering quality swim lessons in a safe, fun and effective manner, to have a complete knowledge and understanding of all aspects of teaching swimming/water safety and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants in classes at all times.

To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have the following:  

1. Previous experience as a learn to swim teacher in an aquatic facility;
2. Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the effective operation of a pool complex;
3. The ability to provide adequate supervision of aquatic facilities to ensure safety of all facility users;
4. Willingness to be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage all participants.
5. Current certification in:
   • Teacher of Swimming;
   • Water Safety;
   • First Aid and CPR;
   • Lifeguard; and
   • Working with Children Blue Card.
6. Willingness to work flexible hours as required, incorporating weekends and public holidays.

For this position we offer:

• $33.46 per hour;
• As required, as per roster;
• Super in accordance with Council Policy;
• Contracted until 4 September 2020
• The location of this position is Moranbah.​​​​​​​
