About the role

These 2x positions are full-time at the Moruya Depot and will primarily be responsible for fitting, machining and assembly process associated with pump maintenance and repairs on water and sewer Infrastructure.

Your main duties will include:

• Performing fitting, machining, assembly process, welding and fabrication tasks.
• Organising work to meet quality and environmental standards.
• Manufacturing/repairing mechanical components and equipment to required standards and deadlines.
• Maintaining records of work performed on required systems and utilising monitoring systems to ensure compliance, and safe and efficient performance, of Council’s assets.

Total remuneration for the role is in the range of $3,166.93 to $3,453.04 gross per fortnight comprising:

• $2,816.53 to $3,074.29 base salary
• $36.56 Adverse Working Conditions allowance
• $313.84 to $342.19 superannuation (calculated at 11%)

About you

Are you ready to put a new qualification to good use, or maybe you have years of know-how to offer? The successful candidate must have the relevant trade certificate with skills in fitting, machining and assembly process, to match. A team-player with strong communication, a like for working with your hands and a self-motivated approach will be the standout and contribute to overall performance and job satisfaction. Your application should further demonstrate:

• Trade Certificate in fitting/machining/assembly process.
• Working knowledge of water and/or sewer pumps and associated ancillary equipment.
• Experience working on fixed/mobile plant, light to heavy vehicles and earthmoving equipment, as well as the use of vehicle-mounted cranes and overhead travelling gantries.
• Ability to utilise technology and software programs.
