The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an organised and enthusiastic individual with strong communication skills, passion for children’s learning and seeking to develop their leadership skills. Reporting to the Centre Coordinator, this position will provide high quality education and care for children attending Moonee Valley City Council’s early year’s services.

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Support the development and implementation of play-based programs;
  • Ensure supervision within the service is active, adequate and efficient at all times in order to maintain the children’s care and safety;
  • Provide a positive environment and atmosphere within the childcare centre;
  • Assist the Centre Coordinator to ensure the maintenance of updated records of the centre's operations and appropriate attendance, medical, emergency and accident details are in accordance with policies, procedures and regulations.

 

About You

To be suitable for this position, you will possess the following:

  • Diploma of Children's Services or equivalent, as recognised by the Department of Education and Training and in accordance with the Education and Care National Law Act 2010 & the Education and Care National Services Regulations 2011.
  • Experience working within Early Childhood
  • Some experience in staff supervision
  • Demonstrated understanding of Victoria’s Child Safe Standards and relevant regulations.
  • Hold a current and valid: Working with Children’s Check, First Aid Level 2, CPR Certificate, Anaphylaxis Management and Emergency Asthma Management certificates
