The Invercargill City Council are currently seeking a Senior Arborist - Customer Liaison Officer to join our Parks Operations team.


In this role you will be responsible for the day to day delivery of our request for service programme, providing advice and dealing with tree requests for internal customers and Invercargill rate payers on a daily basis. You will also be actively involved in performing a variety of tree maintenance tasks including removal and planting work in and around Invercargill.


As the Senior Arborist - Customer Liaison Officer you will provide training and support on correct arboricultural techniques and practices to the Arborist team to ensure that safety is adhered to in order to protect the public, other team members, and yourself, therefore a commitment to Health and Safety is essential.


Minimum requirements for this position:

  • A background in the Arboriculture industry, ideally having stepped up from the tools to supervisory roles.
  • 3 - 5 years demonstrated relevant practical experience.
  • Formal qualification in arboriculture.
  • Current full NZ Drivers Licence - Class 1 and 2.
  • Heavy Traffic Licence.


Rural fire fighting is an area that Parks Operations employees may be involved in, so experience or an interest in this area would be highly regarded.
