About the role

This position is a permanent, full-time role in the Community Care team and based at the Dr Mackay Community Centre in Moruya. The position is responsible for planning and implementing responsive services to connect seniors to their community, promote independence and support health and wellbeing.

Your main duties will include:

  • Respond to referrals and establish relationships with clients, their families and other service representatives that have been referred to our services.
  • Plan support services and organise goods for seniors.
  • Engaging with Direct Support Workers / volunteers or third-party providers delivering support services and goods.  
  • Cost and monitor services and goods in line with program budgets and available resources.
  • Assess and mitigate risk in relation to service delivery.
  • Maintain client records, service delivery documentation and financial records.
  • Contribute to the development and review of processes and procedures and contribute to Community Care Business Strategy, marketing plan and other Council continuous improvement initiatives.

Salary information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $73,888.95 to $81,117.48 gross per annum consisting of:

  • $66,566.62 to $73,078.81 base salary
  • $7,322.33 to $8,038.67 superannuation (at 11%)

When required by Council, participation in an on call roster is part of this position. An allowance is paid when on call.


Appointment to this position is subject to a satisfactory outcome as a result of a National Criminal History Record Check.

About you

If you’re an organised, people-person with excellent written and oral communication skills and can demonstrate your experience in the provision of responsive support plans for seniors, we would love to hear from you! The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting people who are ageing.

Your application will further demonstrate the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Community Services, or working towards achieving a relevant qualification; and/or substantial experience in community service delivery for people who are ageing.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor and report on client budgets/budget allocations.
  • Broad and current knowledge of the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Home Care Program (HCP).
  • High level computer skills with knowledge of Word and Excel.
