About the Team

We're on the lookout for three driven Horticulturist Plant Operators to join our team based at Miami Depot - Gold Coast. The team specialises in maintaining and improving our high-profile foreshore parks, sports fields, landscaped and recreational areas. We undertake a wide range of horticultural activities using our plant equipment.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Working as part of a team undertaking maintenance and improvements of our high-profile foreshore parks, sports fields, landscaped and recreation areas

  • Undertaking wide range of horticultural activities including parks inspections, maintenance and construction, landscaping and integrated pest management programs

  • Managing turf irrigation and drainage systems

  • Maintaining plant and equipment

  • Participating in identified training programs to increase skills and knowledge, contributing to the continual improvement of the section

  • Working within our high-profile foreshore public open spaces including road verges, landscaped and sports field areas

  • Taking pride in your work, having passion for our City and constantly improving your landscaping skills while enjoying opportunities to learn new techniques and plant equipment

We are looking for people that have:

  • Certificate III in Horticulture or related discipline (Mandatory)

  • MR Driver’s Licence or higher (Mandatory)

  • Construction Induction White Card

  • Ability to use an iPad

  • A high level of customer service and communication skills

  • A high level of motivation and the ability to prioritise and multitask in a dynamic environment

Please upload your current resume and a separate cover letter outlining your experience in plant operations (including out-front and winged mowing equipment) and parks and sports field mowing operations as well as your ability to set up traffic control to undertake maintenance tasks within Park streetscapes.  

Please also include in your cover letter yourqualifications and Class of Drivers Licence - Please note it is a mandatory requirement to have an MR or higher-class licence as well as a Certificate III or higher in Horticulture or a similar field.
