Who is the City of Port Phillip?

The structure of the position is Monday to Friday

  • Hours 8.30am -4.36pm
  • 8.30am -1.30pm teaching
  • 1.30pm -4.36pm – lunch and non-contact time

What does success look like in this role?

  • You will build and maintain meaningful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the centre community.
  • Develop and implement an innovative early learning program reflective of current early years thinking and practice.
  • Document children’s learning and development.
  • Actively working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

The things we really need in this role look like: 

  • A completed Bachelor of Early Education (or completed minimum 50%).
  • Prior experience in long day-care/kindergarten. (minimum 2 years)
  • Sound, practical working knowledge and implementation of the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework.

Some Mandatory Requirements that you will need for this role are

  • Current First Aid Certificate HLTAID 004
  • Current CPR HLTAID 001
  • Current Working with Children's Check Card
  • You will be requested to undertake a pre-employment medical check

Prior to a formal letter of offer, preferred applicants will be asked to provide:

  • evidence of mandatory qualifications/registrations/licences, 
  • sufficient proof of their right to work in Australia, and

  • Evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination or valid medical exemption in line with City of Port Phillip Vaccination Policy 
  • Complete a National Police Check completed via City of Port Phillip’s Provider.
  • Evidence of a Working with Children Check (employee type with City of Port Phillip registered as the organisation).  
  • And be required to undertake a pre-employment medical check (at the cost of the council)
