Mechanical Fitter


We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team.

As a Mechanical Fitter with us, you'll be part of a dedicated team responsible for performing technical and operational tasks under the guidance of the Team Leader. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the efficient maintenance and construction practices are implemented, with a focus on promptly attending to repair and maintenance tasks for Water Network and Treatment assets.

Your responsibilities will include conducting maintenance and repairs on mechanical infrastructure related to water and wastewater assets managed by our Water Network and Treatment programs. Previous experience in the Water industry would be advantageous for this technical role.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter
  • Medium Rigid (MR) driver’s licence (QLD)
  • White Card (Construction)
  • Experience with servicing & repairing a range of pump types, control valves, pneumatic systems, dosing systems and general water industry plant and equipment
  • Strong personal organisation skills
  • Ability to construct written reports
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills along with the ability to create and foster a positive team environment and resolve conflicts if they occur

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires regular participation in an 24/7 on-call roster.
  • Immunisation required for Tetanus, Hep A & Hep B
  • Qualifications in First Aid & CPR or ability to attain.
  • Some overtime will be required.

  • Annual base salary from $65,839.83 plus allowances as applicable
  • Total Remuneration Package $94,605.70 including allowances.
  • Choice of 4 or 5 weeks’ annual leave with 17.5% leave loading
