About City of Port Phillip 

We are a vibrant and diverse inner-city council stretching 20kms from South to Port Melbourne along the stunning bay beaches down to Elwood and out to St Kilda East with around 1000 people who all work together to deliver more than 100 programs and services to our engaged community of residents, businesses and visitors. What’s the role all about 

Are you a passionate and driven planner looking to contribute to improving our public open spaces? 

Ideally this role would suit a pro-active and strategic thinker with qualifications in urban planning, urban design or similar and extensive experience in open space planning. 

We have a passionate and driven team who all work together to deliver outcomes that positively benefit our community.  

1 x full-time, permanent position

What you might do 

  • Develop and deliver strategies and plans that will provide the framework for the management of our public open spaces
  • Implement the current strategic open space planning, and wider Council policies and strategies for open spaces
  • Provide advice and guidance on open space planning issues across the organisation. 

Who we are looking for 

  • Tertiary qualifications in urban planning, urban design, or similar
  • Experience in open space planning and policy development, review and implementation
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Analytical and conceptual skills to solve open space planning issues 
  • Victorian Driver Licence

  • Complete a National Police Check completed via City of Port Phillip’s Provider.
  • Evidence of a Working with Children Check (employee type with City of Port Phillip registered as the organisation).
