Due to an internal secondment, we now have a great opportunity to join our Sport and Recreation team as our Club Liaison Officer until June 2022.

A little bit about the role

Working across our diverse set of sport and recreation facilities you will be the central point of contact for our sporting clubs, community groups, schools leagues and associations for queries regarding seasonal allocations, turf maintenance, facility maintenance and fee administration.

You will play an active role in encouraging sport participation within the community and work with our internal teams to develop initiatives and programs that will increase the usage of our facilities. With a passion for community sport, you will research and communicate any grant or training opportunities that may benefit the clubs and when required, meet with club representatives and ensure any actions from these meetings are followed through.

Keeping on top of trends within community sport, you will work with the Operations Coordinator - Sport and Recreation to draft Council reports and briefing papers for recommendations to enhance our service and facilities and have the opportunity to use your creativity with the development of presentations and marketing materials that talk to our customer base.

You will also get out and about - auditing pavilions and facilities, arranging seasonal handover of facilities and helping clubs to operate in line with their seasonal licence agreements.

What you will bring?

You have worked within community sport and recreation, enjoy communicating with people from diverse groups in a variety of ways and don’t mind getting your steps up when your office environment morphs into the great outdoors. You are confident in using MS Office, can pick up new technologies and understand the current landscape of sport clubs, committees and the operations at a local level.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our dedicated Sport and Recreation team, with a goal of enhancing the physical and mental health and wellbeing of all people in Boroondara, regardless of their circumstances, to lead to a healthier and higher quality of life. This will be done by facilitating participation in diverse, inclusive and high quality programs and services. You will work closely with a team that loves to have a laugh and contribute to real positive outcomes.
