About the Role

We are looking for an experienced internal audit professional with relevant experience in a similar position.

You will have strong verbal and written communication skills with a solutions focussed approach, to build  effective working relationships with management and staff. Capable of working autonomously, with  exceptional attention to detail, it will be important for you to make an active contribution to the organisation by exhibiting the Shire’s values in everything you do.

Some of your core functions include:

  • Prepare and draft Internal Audit Planning for consideration by the ARG Committee.
  • Conduct financial audits with a focus on integrity of business transactions.
  • Conduct compliance audits focusing on legislative and council policy compliance.
  • Conduct performance audits focusing on the adequacy, efficiency and effectiveness of business systems and processes.
  • Conduct information systems audits to assess information technology governance and internal control.
  • Maintain awareness of key integrity initiatives and issues which impact Local Government.
  • Conduct reviews of special projects as required.
