Digital Solutions Coordinator – South Melbourne Market

  • Band 7 $96,794 - $108,318 plus 9.5% Super
  • Temporary 10 month contract part time 4 days a week
  • South Melbourne Market

About the Organisation 

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.

South Melbourne Market has been a treasured inner-city landmark and a favourite amongst locals and visitors since 1867. It is the quintessential village market, a place where people come not only to purchase fresh food, but to meet, eat, drink, shop, discover, share and connect. The Market is owned and operated by City of Port Phillip. 

About the Role

This exciting new role is responsible for the development of the Market’s digital technology strategy to improve e-commerce solutions, explore customer engagement processes, implement customer insights and analysis programs and improve data recording and management systems.

Duties:

  • Develop the Market’s Digital Technology strategy
  • Responsible for the project management of the Market's e-commerce platform SMM Direct and the SMM website
  • Manage relationships with developers and agencies to improve functionality and ongoing site performance, ensuring superior user experience
  • Collaborate with Market team to identify digital solutions to improve capabilities
  • Explore and review current trends and technology developments in the ecommerce and customer insights space 
  • Development, delivery and ongoing management of the Market’s digital platforms / projects.   
  • Liaise with Council’s DTS team to ensure all digital solutions conform to Council policy.

Skills and Experience 

  • Extensive experience working with ecommerce, customer facing websites, external tech agencies and customer insights. 
  • Extensive experience in developing, delivering and the overall management and optimisation of customer facing ecommerce and other platforms 
  • Ability to liaise confidently with digital technology agencies and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to identify creative digital solutions for more efficient processes
  • A proven track record of implementing successful digital strategies on brief, on time and on budget to achieve specific KPI’s and ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines 
  • Experience managing return on investment, commercial implications of risk, practical feasibility, capability and budget cost impacts
  • A tertiary qualification in information technology, commerce or technology is preferred.
