Asset Strategy Officer - Sport and Recreation

Permanent Full Time

35 hour week

19 day 4 week cycle

About the Role
The role’s primary purpose is to develop strategic plans and policies to align Council’s recreation and community facilities with the needs of the community. This includes the preparation of Plans of Management for community land pursuant to legislative requirements. The position will also implement the goals of the strategic plans by researching, investigating and developing the long term capital works program for the Shire’s sportsgrounds and recreational facilities.

The successful candidate with be responsible to spearhead the development of strategic documents to influence the direction for sports and recreation in the local area. This is an essential role within a dynamic team. We are seeking a candidate who thrives on collaboration, brings excellent communication skills and good community engagement experience.

This is a golden opportunity for anyone with a background as a Strategic Planner, Recreational Planner, Recreational Strategy Officer, landscape architect or related experience.

Our shire is a beautiful and active place to live in and we have many enthusiastic sports clubs who work together with Council to achieve positive outcomes for the community.

The salary for this position is $81,065.92 to $94,036.28 per annum plus superannuation and is dependent on skills, experience and qualifications. Leaseback vehicle included.

About You

You will be approachable and be able to provide appropriate advice on various subject matters of their expertise and management influence. You will be able to communicate effectively and persuasively to seek agreement and discuss issues to resolve problems with individuals at all levels. The successful applicant will be customer service oriented, keeping the customer as the focal point of all activities and actively striving to accommodate customer’s needs and concerns. You will models and promote Council’s Values and Vision, strategic direction and uses the Business Excellence framework to continuously improve.

You will demonstrate a proactive approach to workplace health and safety requirements as relevant to the work of the team and demonstrate drive and commitment to delivering high quality services to required standards.
