The role of Swim Coach is responsible for providing swim coaching to groups of all ages and abilities. There will also be the opportunity to assist in developing programs for other aquatic activities e.g. surf programs and water polo. The position of Swim Coach is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic person who is driven to develop swimmers to their full potential. You are a team player who is customer focused, with a genuine passion for the sport, nurturing and supporting developing swimmers.

The successful candidate will be required to work morning and afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday, and Saturday mornings. You must also be available to attend weekend Swimming Carnivals as required.

This role is for 20 hours per week however there may be the opportunity to work additional hours in the future.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Develop, deliver and monitor programs for swimming and other aquatic sports and activities;
  • Provide awareness and encourage participation in competition pathways for swimmers within squad programs;
  • Ensure a safe, efficient and financially viable suite of swim coaching programs for different age demographics.

Essential Criteria:

  • Swimming Australia Coaching Licence;
  • Current Working with Children Check Clearance Number or Application Number as per Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013;
  • Current Provide Resuscitation (CPR) certificate (HLTAID 001);
  • Current provide First Aid (HLTAID003);
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering high quality swim coaching programs of various levels or demonstrated previous experience in coaching swimming;
  • Demonstrated ability to participate and actively contribute in a team environment to achieve organisational goals and outcomes;
  • Strong customer service ethos and a demonstrated customer-centric approach to service provision;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with other staff and members of the public both verbally and in writing;
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace change and commitment to work across multiple work locations.

This role provides a salary range of $504.80 to $605.80 per week ($25.24 to $30.29 per hour) + Superannuation. Penalty rates apply for weekend work.

Applicants will be required to undertake a course of vaccinations against Hepatitis A and B and Tetanus or demonstrate their immunity.
