We have a rare opportunity for an experienced traffic and transport planner to lead Nillumbik Shire Council through some exciting major state road, rail and other infrastructure projects.


About the role

You will lead Nillumbik Shire Council through the initiation and planning phases of major traffic and transport federal and state funded capital initiatives which include;

  • $6M for 200 additional commuter parking spaces at Eltham Train Station,
  • $5M for Urban Congestion Busting through the Main Road / Fitzsimons Lane corridor and
  • $1.6M for the 17 Getting to School Safely projects.


In adition to this, you will use your polished advocacy and traffic and transport skills you:

  • Support Council to achieve advocacy goals in relation to transport planning matters and major transport infrastructure projects
  • Lead Nillumbik Shire Council through the development and review of strategy and policy relating to its traffic and transport portfolio
  • Work with the Nillumbik and broader community to achieve traffic and transport outcomes


Drawing upon your substantial experience in guiding an organisation through early planning phases of major state road, rail or civil infrastructure projects will see you easily excel in this role. You will also have a recognised tertiary qualification in a field relating to traffic and transport engineering and/or planning.
