Assistant Financial Services Accountant

Band 6 $87,105 - $94,943 + Super + RDO
A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced finance professional to join a highly motivated and driven team, and play a hands on role in the transformation of the Finance function at the City of Yarra.
As a key member of the finance team, the Assistant Financial Services Accountant will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high quality, efficient and accurate Financial Accounting and Statutory Reporting.
With a strong focus on the preparation and management of Council’s bank reconciliation process and treasury management function, strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast paced and challenging environment will be crucial to your success in this role.
You will also have the opportunity to play a valuable role in shaping the strategic direction of Council’s finance function, and make a valuable contribution to redefining our value-add and customer focused approach to service delivery.
In order to be successful in this role you will need:
- Strong experience in managing the bank reconciliation process in a complex environment of change;
- Strong experience and understanding of fixed asset accounting principles and processes;
- Strong experience in the timely and accurate preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
- Experience providing high levels of customer service to internal and external stakeholders;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, organisation, time management and negotiation skills.
