Community Support Services Officer - Transport

Nillumbik's Community Transport supports older people to connect with their local community.
Key responsibilities will include:
This position is responsible for monitoring and actioning referrals/enquiries received through either My Aged Care portal or from the community. The officer will manage transport assets, bookings and scheduling of community transport services across the Shire. Additionally, this position will support, train and lead a team of volunteers to implement the transport service to assist people with staying connected to their community.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Qualifications in Community Services, Social Sciences or related field, or significant experience commensurate with the requirements of the position
- Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing services to support an ageing community
- An understanding of the needs of older residents within the Shire
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and implement quality changes whilst adhering to timelines
- Knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Reforms
- Experience in recruiting, coordinating, supporting and developing volunteers
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn and adapt to computer software and databases
- Demonstrated team player
- Customer focused
This is a temporary (to 30 June 2020) full-time maternity leave cover Band 5 position.
