Warrnambool Art Gallery is seeking a Curator of Cultural Engagement to join our team. This newly created role is a fantastic opportunity for an early career curator or cultural worker who would like to gain valuable gallery and museum experience.


The Curator will assist with the development and management of programs, guidelines and systems to support the development of Aboriginal cultural and creative industries in South-Western Victoria. They will receive mentoring and support to develop a First Nations Program including public programs and exhibitions.


The successful candidate will work closely with the Maar Nation people on the protection and presentation of cultural objects. They will be required to develop and maintain effective networks and relationships through engagement and partnering with stakeholders and Aboriginal communities.


Working hours can be negotiated under the terms of this contract.


Note: This is a designated Aboriginal position as covered under Section 83 of the Special Measures Provision of the Equal Opportunity Act (Vic) 2010. Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply for this position.

Position status: Temporary Part Time 
(Minimum 42 hours per fortnight)
