We have 3 different positions available:
- Activity Assistant (predominately lifeguarding)
- Party Host
- Stadium Host.
If you are a task orientated, focused individual then the Activity Assistant role is just for you OR if you are fun and energetic then apply for the Party Host or Stadium Host positions.

Casual Activity Assistant (predominately lifeguard)
We are looking for focused individuals to provide high quality pool supervision at one of our 5 aquatic centres. You will be assisting with day to day operations, providing great customer experience, whilst ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment.
What will you need to be considered?
Essential:
- Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Relevant experience
- Current driver's licence
- Current Working With Children Check.
Casual Party Host
This position is about leading 5 – 12 year olds as they celebrate their birthday. It is about being energetic and fun with lots of party games! So if you are a big kid at heart, you would be perfect as a Party Host! This position is available at Blacktown Aquatic Centre, Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope and Charlie Lowles Leisure Centre Emerton.
What will you need to be considered?
Essential:
- Current CPR Certificate
- Pool Lifeguard, Bronze Medallion or Austswim Certificate – Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or Swim Australia Teacher
- Excellent customer service
- Excellent oral communication
- Current Working With Children Check.
Casual Stadium Host
This position assists with setting up and packing up of stadium sports, events and equipment. We are looking for staff who are team players, can follow a schedule and can work within fixed timeframes. This position is only available at Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope.
What will you need to be considered?
Essential:
- Current First Aid
- Experience in a service role
- Desire and willingness to further knowledge of industry.

Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Activity Assistants attract an hourly rate of $25.7974 (Grade 3, Level 1)
- Party Hosts and Stadium Hosts attract an hourly rate of $24.3658 (Grade 2, Level 1)
- All positions attract 25% casual loading on top of the above rates, as well as weekend penalty rates
- Trainee rates apply for applicants under 19 years of age
- Employee benefits such as leave entitlements, 9.5% employer superannuation contribution payable to the Local Government Superannuation Scheme, Fitness Passport and gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
