Council is seeking applications to fill multiple positions for Casual Assistant Educator.


The Position

Council is seeking the services of persons to fill the positions of Casual Assistant Educator. The successful applicants will be responsible for assisting in providing a quality early childhood program which meets the needs of the children attending Centre Based Childcare and in line with the requirements of the of the National Quality Standards and relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.


Qualifications and Experience

The successful applicant must have their Certificate III in Children’s Services, be currently studying towards it, or willing to commence study within the first three months of employment. Applicants are required to have, or be eligible to obtain, Suitability Notice (Blue Card) and have a current Apply First Aid Certificate. An understanding of Childcare legislation, National Quality Framework and Workplace Health & Safety procedures are also desirable.


Salary and Conditions

The position is classified as a Assistant Children’s Services Worker Yr 1 Unqualified to Assistant Children’s Services Worker Yr 1 Qualified under the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017 and offers an hourly rate of $31.33 – 34.73 depending on qualifications and experience. The position wil attract conditions in accordance with the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017. The hours of duty are as per a scheduled roster.
