Team Leader, Compliance
The Development Control branch is looking for a suitably qualified individual to undertake the duties of a fulltime Compliance Team Leader. This role is required to monitor and inspect developments around the Queanbeyan-Palerang, ensuring it is compliant with legislation and regulations.
The cohesive team comprises of a multi-disciplinary skillset including building surveyors, planners and technical investigators. The work is diverse, complex and rewarding, utilising a collaborated approach to problem-solving. Council encourages career development and training, and has a focus on continuous process improvement.
Role expectations
- Investigate and action customer requests relative to unauthorised building works and land uses, while maintaining a high standard of customer service and compliance with the relevant planning legislation.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff within the Team.
- Investigate and report on customer requests relative to fire safety.
- Investigate and report on matters pertaining to the Building Code of Australia.
- Be responsive to community expectations and the need for education within a regulatory role.
- Respond timely to legislative changes
