Primary Objective

Contribute to strategic planning for potable water supply in remote communities, through the management of the water source monitoring program and provision of expertise in water source planning and management.

 

Key Responsibilities

1.      Management of the remote community groundwater level monitoring program, hydrogeological assessments, database management, data analysis and reporting.

2.      Conduct water source capacity and demand assessments to support strategic and operational water supply planning.

3.      Provision of responses to regulatory referrals, including management of water extraction licence compliance and renewals.

4.      Assist with water asset management initiatives across all PWC serviced remote communities and provide technical advice including operational management.

5.      Carry out duties in accordance with Power and Water's safety and environmental policy, safety principles, corporate values and behaviours.

 

Selection Criteria – Essential

1.      Relevant scientific degree or engineering degree recognised for Professional Membership with Engineering Australia.

2.      Hydrogeological data management and analysis experience for water source assessment.

3.      Demonstrated ability to function pro-actively and effectively as a team member, manage self, prioritise workloads, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

4.      Strong oral and written communication skills.

5.      Ability to foster positive working relationships across a culturally diverse range of stakeholders including colleagues, NT and national government, industry, scientific community, customers and the public.

 

Selection Criteria – Desirable

1.      Project management or contract administration experience within the water utilities industry.

2.      Knowledge and/or experience of small scale public water supply system planning, development and operations.
