Mechanic



Council is seeking the services of a Mechanic to contribute towards the provision of well-maintained, safe and reliable plant and resources and supporting and sustaining services, infrastructure and the completion of works programs and Council operations throughout the shire, in an efficient and effective way using sound business practices.


The Mechanic’s position requires someone with the qualifications and experience to competently carry out technically skilled and qualified maintenance, servicing and repairs of a range of Council’s plant and vehicles, equipment, water, sewage and irrigation systems and public facilities, including the design, repair and fabrication of parts, providing advice to Council on optimising equipment life, reliability and correct operational procedures.


The Mechanic position is a permanent fulltime position.


Salary Benefits

  • Remuneration at Grade 5 of Council’s salary system ($1199.52 - $1339.50 per week) depending on qualifications and experience
  • Adverse Working Conditions Allowance currently $15.40 per week
  • 9.5% superannuation
  • 38 hours per week
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 4 weeks’ annual leave
  • Sick, Carers and other leave as per the Local Government (State) Award
