About the role Are you a great communicator and experienced leader interested in working in a dynamic, creative team for an innovative and progressive coastal Council with an eye on its future? Responsible for overseeing one of Australia’s leading ocean lifeguarding services across 42 kilometres of coastline and 17 patrolled beaches, the Operations Manager Beach Services plays a pivotal key role in the development and implementation of a broad range of water safety education initiatives to enable our community and visitors to safely access a unique aquatic environment. What You Will Be Doing: The position has a specific focus on the implementation of a strategic risk based approach to beach management, leads the planning of services occurring on beaches and contributes to capital planning and the renewal of related assets. This position will provide dynamic leadership to a proud and professional, responsive, talented and skilled Ocean Lifeguard team with a focus on establishing and maintaining a collaborative team culture. This position is responsible for the effective management and coordination of Council’s Beach Services including strategic management, finance, human resources, risk management, promotion and marketing of water safety initiatives as well as providing direction to the day to day operations of Council’s Lifeguard Services. You will partner with agencies on water safety services and activities and will promote constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in the process.
