Your Position:

Seeking an experienced, energetic, customer focused Design Engineer to undertake investigations, survey and design of Civil infrastructure including preparation of cost estimates, related design reports, oversee the completion of flood studies/plans and contribute to the strategic management of Council’s Road, Open Space and Stormwater assets.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Design Council’s civil infrastructure (including footpaths, kerb and gutter, roads, driveways, stormwater drainage, open space and traffic facilities).
  • Investigate, analyse, designs and modelling of stormwater drainage system (both manually and using DRAIN or similar software)
  • Carry out all necessary investigation of Department requests, customer requests, and supply clear, concise, accurate and timely reports in line with specified performance targets
  • Lead Council’s Flood Studies and Flood Risk Management Plans program and the management of consultants and grant funding.
  • Engage and manage external design consultants to prepare design and documentation of various infrastructure projects.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering and/or equivalent demonstrated work experience in a similar role
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Road and drainage design standards
  • High level experience in preparation of design documentation relating to road and storm water drainage projects
  • Demonstrated experience with the use of Total Station and survey equipment

Key Requirements:

  • COVID 19 vaccination for all employees (2 Vaccines)
  • Willingness to complete a National Police History Check
  • Willingness to complete a pre-employment health assessment (Where applicable)
  • Current Driver's Licence
