If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a Park Maintenance Officer on a permanent fulltime basis with a 9-day fortnight roster based at our Sarina Depot.

About these Opportunities:

The team you will join contributes to maintaining and preserving Mackay Regional Council’s Park assets by undertaking basic gardening, landscape improvements and general maintenance duties. The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience with Small Plant Equipment: Candidates should have hands-on experience operating and maintaining small plant equipment, including tractors, mowers, chainsaws, mulchers, brush cutters, chippers, blower vacs.
• Familiarity with horticultural practices, including planting, pruning, and maintaining trees, shrubs, and flowers, is advantageous for enhancing the park's aesthetics.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team and strong attention to detail with ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Place a high importance on safety protocols and follow established guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• General Construction Induction Training
• QLD “C” Class Drivers Licence
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of large ride-on mowers, whipper snippers and small plant including power tools and equipment used for general maintenance tasks.
• Certificate III or a Horticulture background and experience in a similar role would be highly regarded.

Salary & Employee Benefits:

• Base annual salary from $57,018 - $59,319 + allowance as applicable (level offered will be dependent on successful candidates’ qualifications and experience)
• Up to 18% superannuation (conditions apply)
• Choice of 4 or 5 weeks’ annual leave with 17.5% leave loading
