About the Hawkesbury Hawkesbury City Council provides services and facilities to more than 67,000 residents living in urban and rural communities spread across an area of 2,800 sq km, making us the largest local government area in the Sydney Metropolitan Area. About the role The Executive Assessment Planner is an exciting new position that will play a fundamental role in achieving business excellence and best practice for the Development Assessment Department. The team are embarking on a period of significant transformation and reform and are committed to delivering and exceeding the expectations of the Hawkesbury community and the development industry. We are seeking a highly motivated Executive Assessment Planner who can assess complex Development Applications including those to be reported to the Local and State Planning Panels, take a lead in Land and Environment Court proceedings, chair pre-lodgement meetings as well as assist with driving business improvement and mentoring and coaching the team to meet organisational objectives. About You This role will suit a planning professional with extensive experience in the NSW Planning system, a proactive attitude and the ability to deal with complex matters through proven written and verbal communication skills. Using your attention to detail and the utilising your judgement and initiative with a solution-based approach to all situations, you will thrive on taking on interesting challenges relating to a broad range of planning issues that confront metropolitan as well as peri-urban areas, whilst being able to think pragmatically, communicate well and prioritise complex tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
