About the role:

At a time of new strategic direction this position will be working in partnership with the business to create value across the procurement and contracts lifecycle.  

This position will lead the Procurement and Contracts function including the development, implementation, management and promotion of procurement and contract strategies and policies appropriate to the future needs of council.

Your ability to build strong relationships, both internally and externally and have a solutions focussed mindset whilst mitigating risk, will be imperative to succeed in this role. 


The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in an area relevant to the subject matter of this position.
  • Extensive knowledge of Government Procurement Policies with a preference to Local Government.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in best practice contract management.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proven leadership and change management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting Contract Management and Procurement Policy and Procedures.
  • Considerable experience in Corporate Computerised Procurement systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and diplomacy at all times. Commitment to role modeling our values of: Respect, Integrity, Optimism, Trust and Teamwork.
