Recreation and Open Space Strategic Planner
We are seeking a passionate, innovative and creative Recreation and Open Space Strategic Planner to facilitate the implementation of Council’s goals and objectives relating to healthy lifestyles through the provision of recreation facilities, public open space and healthy lifestyle choices.
In this role you will work toward improving facilities and open spaces through working with key stakeholders and the community to develop clear plans, strategies and policies in order to help the community lead active lives. You will have key strategic input and leadership to cross-organisational projects and provide support to the new external Public Spaces Advisory Committee.
You will be required to build constructive partnerships and engage the community to ensure strategies and plans reflect and respond to local expectations. To be successful in this role you will have exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills and experience in planning, strategy or policy development.
Experience in open space, recreation planning and an understanding of population health issues will be highly regarded for this role.
