Maribyrnong Council is a vibrant municipality on the doorstep of Melbourne's CBD that is undergoing significant redevelopment and population growth. Maribyrnong is becoming a sought after residential space and a destination for foodies. This transitioning economy is leading to an influx of new residents, businesses and opportunities.


Our Building Services Department is also undertaking a significant restructure with the objective to establish a model building services department. We are seeking a Building Inspector to assist the team undertake our inspection of dangerous and illegal buildings, essential safety measures and the like.


Candidates will be registered practitioners IN-L or IN-U (or be close to registration). The ideal candidate will have several years of experience conducting statutory inspections and preparing statutory enforcement documentation. You will possess a competent level of knowledge and understanding of the Building Act, Building Regulations and Building Code of Australia.


We seek an individual with exceptional communication skills who will actively contribute to the growth of Maribyrnong's building department. Your input will be encouraged and valued.


Similarly the department's team structure will encourage and support your growth, with assistance provided for you to progress through the practitioner registration categories.
